Embalming Policy

Although the law does not require embalming, embalming may be necessary if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with a viewing. If you do not want embalming, you have the right to choose an arrangement, which does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial. Most cemeteries require embalming if the casket is to be interred in a mausoleum.

Embalming sanitizes and preserves the body, retards the decomposition process, and enhances the appearance of a body disfigured by traumatic death or illness. Embalming makes it possible to lengthen the time between death and the final disposition, thus allowing family members time to arrange and participate in the type of service most comforting to them.

Unlike many funeral homes, we perform our own embalming and preparation in our spacious modern operating room.  We maintain full control of the decease's  remains to which we are entrusted.
